New 'diabetes suite' at Ogdensburg hospital
Friday, February 7, 2020 - 4:37 pm

Area residents can now attend diabetes education and prevention classes in the comfort of the new Lions Diabetes Education Suite at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. The Lions Diabetes Education Suite is the product of a partnership between local Lions groups, LCIF (Lions Clubs International Foundation), Claxton-Hepburn Foundation, and the CHMC Diabetes Education Department. The suite features a large conference room for group classes enabled with smart board technology, as well as a private counseling room for individuals and family members. Diabetes prevention and management classes are offered to area residents for free throughout the year. Before receiving the grant from LCIF to create the suite, classes were held in various available spaces throughout the hospital.
