Rogers family visits Norfolk
Wednesday, August 4, 2010 - 6:31 am

Hidden Meadow Inn, Norfolk's B&B, hosted brothers Tony and Jeff Rogers, above, during a recent stay in the North Country. They came from opposite ends of the country (Cambridge, Mass., and Portland, Ore.) to see where their famous father, William Pierce Rogers, was born and raised before embarking on a career of public service as Attorney General of the U.S. during the Eisenhower administration and Secretary of State under Nixon. Innkeeper Joanna Loucky-Ramsey helped them contact a relative, Russell Strait, who manages the Harrison Rogers Insurance Agency on Rt. 56, founded by their grandfather. Strait connected them with former neighbors and showed them the old homestead and other points of interest. Norfolk Museum Historian Leon Burnap and others also assisted them in their hunt for information about their roots. Photo by Joanna Loucky-Ramsey. Read more at:
