As part of the 9th Annual Remington Arts Festival in Canton, middle and high school students from around the North Country participated in the Student Art Competition. The theme of this year’s competition was Reflections on Knowledge, based on a quote about artist Frederic Remington’s work: “He draws what he knows, and he knows what he draws.” Seven art teachers from the local area submitted a total of 33 pieces representing their middle and high school students’ artwork. The first place winner of this year’s Student Art Competition is “Questioning” by Emily Gonthier (11th grade student of Mr. Ben Yandeau, Norwood-Norfolk Central School).
