Norwood girl earns President's Volunteer Service Award

Ten-year-old Vanessa Stanka of Norwood has been honored with the President's Volunteer Service Award. The award, made at the New York State Fair, was given at the gold level, the highest, based on the number of hours of community service a volunteer accrues. Vanessa has volunteered 155 hours for the year in such activities as working at the Potsdam Human Society and running a fundraiser for them, and running a coat drive.
