The Norwood Police Department recently bought a new patrol SUV. Assistant Chief Chris Radel said the 2018 Ford Explorer was partially paid for with a $10,000 USDA grant with the remaining $33,000 paid for through a loan. 'During the research of the new patrol car we looked at the previous vehicles that Norwood Police had purchased. Being located in the north country we needed an SUV type vehicle that had AWD and that can endure the harsh weather and rough roads,” Radel wrote in an email. He said the new vehicle also needed new radar and radio equipment.
