More sandbags in Norwood
Wednesday, May 4, 2011 - 5:03 pm

Thanks to the help of neighboring fire departments, pumps are running and more sand bags were placed and seem to be holding in Norwood, according to Tim Donahue, ex-chief of the Norwood Fire Department. "Six days and no relief yet," he said. "Many man-hours have been spent trying to contain this unprecedented flooding in the Village of Norwood." Wednesday, the students from St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES in Norwood were busy filling sandbags for the community, Donahue reported. "They were filling them as fast as they were provided the sand. Enough were filled that we were able to share a bunch with neighboring Potsdam," he added. View slideshow of downtown Potsdam and Norwood flooding.
