Having a hoot in Winthrop

Chris Steenberg of Winthrop was surprised to find this barred owl sitting on a cedar fence poll in his garden plot right next to where he feeds his birds. "He was looking away and when I made a "who, who" sound he looked straight at me so I took his picture. He usually stays for ten or fifteen minutes at a time, so I took a bunch of pictures needless to say," he said. "It is funny that just this summer I was telling my wife that I really would like to photograph owls but had no idea how to go about finding them. I guess they find you."
