Reading buddies in Canton
Wednesday, November 9, 2011 - 5:04 pm

The Reading Buddies program pairs St. Lawrence University student volunteers with third- and fourth-grade students at St. Mary's School in Canton to encourage reading for enjoyment. Buddies meet once a week to spend 30 minutes taking turns reading a book, then playing games that improve reading skills. Reading Buddies, which is now in its third year, is supported by Stewart's Shops, which made a $2,000 grant to the program.
