Food convoy in Canton
Wednesday, December 14, 2011 - 9:34 am

During November members and friends of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Canton collected non-perishable foods items to help stock food pantry shelves in the community. The congregation passed the 600-item challenge set by the church's minister, the Reverend David S. Blanchard, collecting more than 1,000 healthy food items, which were delivered to food pantries in Canton, Gouverneur, Norwood, and Colton-Pierrepont. After church recently a "convoy" of all ages transported bags and boxes full of food to Canton's Church and Community Program just down the street. Photo by David Pynchon.
