PIERREPONT -- The Local Living Venture will hold a Wood Splitting for Women Workshop Sunday, March 4 from 2 to 4 p.m. near Colton.
With volunteer workshop host Betsy Kepes, women in the workshop will learn which types of tree are best for firewood and easiest to split. Participants will practice using a maul and a wedge and learn various ways to stack firewood.
A $10 to $20 donation is requested and scholarships are available.
