LIVE ON VETERAN’S DAY

Veterans concert

WADDINGTON: Special tribute concert of patriotic music to honor military for Veterans Day, 5 p.m., First Presbyterian Church, Fenton Street; Clarkson ROTC Flag Presentation, and performances by Josh Barkley, Steelin’ Country, Joan Loomis, Alex Hammond, Barbara Spadacini, Bernie Hazelton, Brianne Sterling and others; after the concert a reception at Waddington American Legion on Fenton Street at 6:30 p.m.; all veterans, current members of all branches of the armed services and their families and the public are invited to attend; military are invited to wear their uniforms, medals, hats, etc. to the concert; sponsored by the First Presbyterian Church of Waddington; donations accepted.

Little Big Band

PARISHVILLE: Jack Kelley's Little Big Band will honor those who have served with a concert at AmVets Post 265, Catherine St.; taps played over the water, followed by entertainment from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.; open to the public.

Veteran’s Day ceremony

OGDENSBURG — A Veteran’s Day ceremony will be held Monday, Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. at the Vietnam Memorial in the parking lot next to the Mosiac building near the twin bridges. A second ceremony will be held by the VFW Post 2936 at Groulx Park at 11 a.m. Post members will place wreaths on the various monuments. The money to pay for the wreaths came from the FallPatriot Run earlier this fall. Soup and sandwiches will be available after at the VFW building on Champlain Street.

Crane Brass Ensemble

POTSDAM: Crane Brass Ensemble in concert, 7:30 p.m., Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music; 24-member ensemble under the direction of James Madeja includes the top brass and percussion performers at The Crane School of Music; program features a variety of literature, from "Canzon Noni Toni" by the late 16th century Italian composer, Giovanni Gabrieli, to the "Fanfare" from Igor Stravinsky's opera "The Rake's Progress," and Richard Wagner's "Funeral March" from the opera "Die Götterdämmerung;” two featured works on the program are the "Symphony for Brass and Percussion" by Alfred Reed and "The Blade of Spain" by Anthony DiLorenzo; free, and the public is invited to attend.
