Rotary Club awards

POTSDAM: The Rotary Club of Potsdam will honor Chamil Perera and Romeyn Prescott, both of Potsdam, with the Paul Harris Award, and Emily Brouwer of Potsdam and Kate Mikel of Norwood with the Service Above Self Award, at its annual dinner, Elks Lodge, 10 Elm St.; all Rotarians; family, friends and colleagues of the honorees; and community members are invited to attend the dinner; social hour gets underway at 5:30 p.m.; dinner will be served at 6 p.m.; tickets available by advance purchase only for $30 per person, checks can be made out to “Potsdam Rotary” and sent to Potsdam Rotary, PO Box 912, Potsdam 13676; all reservations must be received by Friday, May 31; 315-265-5584.

Tourism Awards dinner

CANTON: Fourth annual St. Lawrence County Tourism Awards dinner will kick off the summer tourism season, while recognizing two awardees at the Potsdam Town and Country Club; “Best to the Guest” Tourism Excellence award will be presented to Nicandri Nature Center, Massena; “Best Destination Marketing Initiative” will be presented to the Ogdensburg International Airport; dinner is open to community leaders and tourism industry partners, businesses and interested parties; overview of the tourism industry will be presented along with a brief presentation on sports tourism; everyone is invited to bring their brochures, rack cards and information to a brochure swap in the parking lot at 4:30 p.m.; happy hour with live music by Andy VanDuyne and Michael Welch will begin at 5 p.m., followed by dinner, presentations and awards at 6 p.m.; reservations: 315-386-4000, Suzanne@SLCchamber.org, www.VisitSTLC.org; $42 per person.
