Sandy’s Steps 5K

Stomp out Stigma

OGDENSBURG: St Lawrence Psych Center hosting the first annual "Stomp out Stigma" 5k for Mental Health Awareness, sponsored by Pepsi and the SLPC Employee Assistance program, open to the public; 10 a.m., Hosmer’s Marina, 54 E. Soccer registration

GOUVERNEUR: Gouverneur Soccer Club will hold registration from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Gouverneur High School cafeteria. They also seek volunteer coaches and referees. There will be a 50 percent discount on registration fees for all children of a parent who volunteers to coach or referee. Player registration is $50 for a single player, with discounts for each additions player afterward. Practices start June 24. Games start July 9. They will be divided into teams based on age. A parent or legal guardian must be present to sign up a child. A birth certificate or photo ID with the child's age will be required. Financial assistance programs are available. Motorcycle run

CANTON: Beard Laws Motorcycle Poker Run to raise money for the Richard E. Winter Cancer Center, 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; run is starting at Char’s Bar, 7235 County Route 27; registration starts at 9:30 a.m. and the ride starts at 11; entry fees are $15 for a single and $20 for a double. There will be cash entry only; an ATM is on site; stops include Jocko's, Last Lap, Lone Wolf, and Doug's Tavern; riders must report back at 5:30 to draw their hand; 50/50 raffles as well as silent auctions; live music to follow with the band Sudden Impact.
