Sports nutrition speaker

CANTON: Part of SUNY Canton’s weeklong Scholarly Activities Celebration, SUNY Canton alumnus and Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist Dan Benardot, Ph.D., class of 1968, will return to his alma mater to deliver a keynote speech at 5 p.m., Richard W. Miller Campus Center's Kingston Theater; will discuss how nutrition strategies designed for professional athletes can be used by anyone looking to maximize their health and fitness; free, open to public.

Pirate Party

POTSDAM: Pirate Party, 10:30 a.m., Potsdam Public Library; stories, crafts, pirate fun for ages 3-5; registration required: 315-265-7230.

Game of LIFE

MADRID: HYDE, a project of the Health Initiative, is offering free programming for teens looking for something fun to do and parents looking for something productive for their teens to do, 3-5 p.m., at the Madrid Hepburn Library, 11 Church St. in Madrid; Facebook and Instagram @slchi.hyde.
