MASSENA — A free “Nature Night” program will be offered by Nicandri Nature Center on Friday Aug. 25, from 7-9 p.m. for all ages. Join staff for an evening walk with a bat program after dark with acoustic bat detectors. Also, visitors will have a chance to peer at the stars (weather permitting) through telescope.
Fluorescent mineral hunt
CANTON – A fluorescent mineral hunt for kids takes place Friday evening before the St. Lawrence County Rock & Mineral Club announces its 56th Annual Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show at the Canton Pavilion, 90 Lincoln St., on Aug. 25, starting at 8 p.m. Admission to the hunt is free. Each child (age 12 or under) will be able to borrow a portable black light to use in the search. Kids get to keep all the minerals that they find.
Folklife Celebration

POTSDAM – Miss Angie’s Music/Angie Beeler will take the stage at the Ives Park Concert Series Saturday, Aug. 26, 6-8 p.m., with one hour of music geared towards children, and another hour of tunes for any crowd. The North Country Children’s Museum will run a pop-up installation during the concert.
