Biking for Books

MORLEY: Morley Library Association’s 6th annual Biking for Books 50K (31 mile) bicycle ride; mostly flat with rolling hills through rural countryside; all ages and abilities; not a race, but friendly competition is welcome; door prizes awarded, t-shirts with on-time registration, $25, checks payable to Morley Library Association; mail registration to: John Beaudette, 2242 County Rt. 14, Canton 13617; on-line registration can be made at: theclipjointpetgrooming.com; registration must be received by 5/28/19 to be guaranteed a t-shirt; ride day registration starts at 9 a.m. at the Morley Wesleyan Church; helmets are required; ride starts at 10 a.m., starts and finishes at the Morley Wesleyan Church; all participants will be eligible for door prizes and must be present at time of drawing; info: John Beaudette at 315-386-5235, Beagle_ Scout_ MrB@hotmail.com.

Black Lake Mud Run

BRIER HILL: Black Lake Fish & Game Club 2019 Mud Run, 1 Gilmore Rd., Brier Hill. Signups 10 a.m., run starts 11 a.m. $10 for adults, $5 for kids 7 to 12, and a family rate $30. 1.5 mile loop with 20 obstacles and 5k loop with 23 obstacles. Wash station, free drinks courtesy of Pepsi of Ogdensburg; lunch available.

Intro to crew rowing

NORWOOD: Grateful Oars Rowing Club will offer an introduction to crew rowing, 9-11 a.m. at Norwood Beach (28 Maple Street; tour the boathouse, meet club members, learn about rowing in a crew boat at dockside, watch a crew demonstrate rowing, and experience a few minutes in a crew boat; event is free; gratefuloars.org.

Safe boating course

GOUVERNEUR: ‘About Boating Safely’ boating safety certification course, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Gouverneur High School cafeteria, 133 East Barney St. Get questions answered, check out safety equipment, receive course text book and federal and state rule books to keep, certificate and card. $35 per person, family rates available. Turtle Mud Run 5k

LOUISVILLE: 5k mud run with 15+ obstacles through woods, swamps, river.
