MASH camp
OGDENSBURG: One-day MASH Camp for students in grades 8–12, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, partnership of the Northern Area Health Education Center Inc. in Canton and the hospital.; students will explore healthcare careers through hands-on activities in a wide variety of departments throughout the hospital, such as physical therapy, radiology, medical laboratory, pharmacy and occupational therapy; also see SimMan, an advanced patient simulator in action; free and lunch is provided; participants are responsible for their own transportation and must have a current flu shot; www.northernahec.org/apply to submit your application; deadline to apply is Feb. 1 and participation is limited to 16 students; info: 315-379-7701.

Photography talk
CANTON: St. Lawrence University’s Art Collaborative’s “Photographing the Invisible” series, 4:30 p.m., Herring Cole’s Feinstone Room and will feature a dialog with contemporary photographers Joshua Lutz, Kerry Payne and Tara Wray; will discuss their photography and how they use it as a source to cope with their relationships to mental illness, free and open to the public.
Earthquakes
POTSDAM: “Are Earthquakes a Hazard in Northern New York? Papers on Massena, Goodnow and AuSable Quakes,” Thursday seismology workshop, 3 p.m., Stowell Hall Room 131; hands-on activities dealing with the use of real seismic equipment and seismograms of local and distant earthquakes; class size is limited to 10 people, so participants are urged to arrive early, parking is also available in Lot 6.
