LOUISVILLE: Next meeting for the Seaway Valley Senior Citizens will be at the Louisville Fire Department, Route 37, noon; gift exchange for reading materials, puzzles and small items; members asked to bring a dish to share, place settings and items for the food pantry; 315-764-5804.

Roos vs. Cortland

CANTON: SUNY Canton Men's Hockey vs. SUNY Cortland at SUNY Canton Roos House, 4 p.m.; Canton Winterfest event.

Bears vs. Oburg

CANTON: Canton Golden Bears Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Ogdensburg Free Academy at Canton High School, 7:15 p.m.; Canton Winterfest event.

Winter birches painting

NORWOOD: Oil painting class by Sip and Stroke with Stephanie; 5-9 p.m.; Wilson Bickford winter scene of birches in a field; $35 per person includes supplies; limited capacity , register at Norwood Public Library or their Facebook page.

POTSDAM: SLC Arts hosts a “make and take” art classes The Power of Pastel with instructor, Liza LaBarge Paige; each class begins with brief discussion on the artist, their medium, and style; remainder of class is for students to create their own interpretation of the artist’s work. Signup by noon, Feb. 10; class 7-8:30 p.m.; $25 members, $30 non-members. Materials provided; classes open to participants at any skill level; recommended age is 14+.
