Gala, skating benefit

BRASHER FALLS: Performances by Olympians, world figure and fancy skating medalists and other skaters will all be part of the Family Gala and Skating Benefit, Tri-Town Community Center, Route 11C, 1:50-3 p.m.; will raise money to support St. Thérèse Academy and World Figure Sport; Olympic and World Cup figure skater Karen Courtland Kelly will be on hand for special program and talk at the benefit; tickets cost $10 or $20 for families, group rate for students and families of St. Thérèse Academy & Holy Name School; 518-304-3029, email sk8@worldfiguresport.org, or visit WorldFigureSport.org.

Massena Fishing Expo

MASSENA: Massena Fishing Expo from Feb. 14-16 at the St. Lawrence Centre’s expo center will feature fishing pros and celebrities, boat displays and a variety of local exhibitors with fishing gear and tackle; also kids’ trout pond, archery range and other youth activities; admission is $12 and children younger than 12 are admitted free, parking is free; 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; seminars: “Muskie & Walleye Fishing in the North Country” with Captain Don Lucas at 11 a.m., “Fish & Cooking Demonstration” with pro angler and chef Jimmy Kennedy at 12 p.m., “Understanding the River Systems and Tributaries for Success” with MLF pro angler Adrian Aveena at 1 p.m., “Conservation – Protection of our Smallmouth Fisheries – Fizz Instruction” with Barb Elliott at 2 p.m., “National TV Personality – Reel Braggin’ Rights” with Jim Root at 3 p.m.; massenafishingexpo.com.

Cheerleading competition

EDWARDS: Edwards-Knox Cheerleading Competition at the school gym, 2512 CR 24, Edwards; 1 p.m., doors open at noon; concession stand, cheer merchandise, raffles, cheer grams; admission $5, children 5 and under free.

Pool tourney

CANTON: Wounded Warrior Pool Tournament, sponsored by the Edward C. Seymour VFW Auxiliary Post 1231 at 34 Gouverneur St.; ; Canton Winterfest event; registration at 11 a.m., matches start at 12 p.m.; registration fee of $20; proceeds support the Mountain Wounded Warrior Sled Hockey Team; three cash prizes and trophies.

Guided snowshoe
