Boating Safety

MASSENA: US Coast Guard Auxiliary offers ‘About Boating Safely,’ boating safety certificate course at Nicandri Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd., Massena 5-9 p.m. tonight and Thursday night. Must attend both sessions to be certified. $35 per person, family rates available for 3 or more family members; preregister at 315-842-3206; bring pen, drink and snack recommended.

Science demo

NORWOOD: SciTech Museum visits Norwood Public Library with science show at 5 p.m.; science demonstrations and many fun facts. Free and open to the public.

Seaway Festival

OGDENSBURG: 59th annual Ogdensburg International Seaway Festival kicks off Friday, July 19 with a week of amusement rides, live music, food, vendors, games, Founder’s Weekend re-enactments and other events; draws thousands of people to attend from all over the North Country and Canada; Green Mountain Amusements, Wrist Bracelet Day, Morrisette Park, 5-9 p.m.; Ogdensburg’s Got Talent at the Riverside Avenue main stage, three categories: youth, high school, adult, $10 entry.
