Colton Winterfest

COLTON: 2020 Town of Colton Winterfest from Jan. 23-26, “100 Years of Progress – Equal Rights for All,” commemorates town celebration’s history from 1920-2020; benefits the Neighborhood Center serving Colton, Pierrepont and Parishville; throughout the festival, fundraising for Neighborhood Center including a silent auction of fine and folk art including Dick Bailey print, Judy Filarecki paintings, Stephen Hewer pyrography, locally painted barn quilts, and more, Art Around Town installations including the unveiling of Winterfest barn quilt mural, baby barn quilts, and more, Remembrance Trees, 42 trees displayed in the hamlets of South Colton and Colton, open skating in the pavilion at Swift Field (weather dependent) at times to be announced; 4-7 p.m. All-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner with music by Andy Van Duyne at CPCS cafeteria, 4921 State Highway 56; $10, $8 for children 6-10 and seniors, free for children 5 and younger, $32 for a family of four, $35 for a family of 5, $8 for each additional family member, take-outs available; unveiling of Winterfest barn quilt mural featuring 1920-2020 design; 5 p.m. Presentation of Citizen of the Year Award to Lorraine Gowing during the spaghetti dinner.

Blood drive

CANTON: 1 -6 p.m., Best Western University Inn, 90 E. Main St., Red Cross blood drive, must be age 17, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health; to make appointment visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.

Book club evening

MASSENA: January book club selection “Americanah”, by Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; 6:30 p.m.; contact Elaine Dunne for a copy of book; Massena Public Library.
