MASSENA: St. John’s Episcopal Church, 139 Main St., was incorporated on Sept. 15, 1869 and will celebrate its 150th birthday on Sept 15; 9 a.m. Sunday service, with Eucharist, with the Rev. Barbara Robinson; 2-4 p.m. social gathering in the parish hall with cookies and drinks, displays include a timeline showing significant events in the history of the World, Massena, and St. John’s, historic photos, documents, and bios of past rectors, and time to share memories with friends and neighbors; 2:30-3:30 p.m. church tour of windows and tapestry; public invited, 315-769-5203.
Cruisin’ Down Memory Lane

Madrid Block Party
MADRID: 2nd Annual Madrid Family Block Party hosted by Madrid Pride and Beautification Committee, 1-7 p.m.; free admission event held at the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department will offer live music by Marty Robinson and Friends, face painting, a cardboard box derby and other entertainment; 20+ vendors, many basket raffles, a bike raffle and food offerings; Friends of the Madrid Hepburn Library putting on cake walk, book sale, bouncy house; proceeds raised will be put to use on community beautification projects; like "Madrid Pride and Beautification" on Facebook for more information.
