WADDINGTON –The first annual Festival of the Trees will be offered in Waddington with events planned Dec. 8-10, including a Welcome Santa parade and silent auction of donated Christmas trees and gift baskets.
Christmas tree donations for the event will start setup on Thurs., Dec. 8, from 5-7 p.m. Bring a 4-6 ft. artificial tree decorated in the theme of your choice and add gifts to get the bidding going. Gift basket donations will also be accepted for a silent auction and Chinese auction.
On Fri., Dec. 9, a Welcome Santa Parade will start at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Tree Lighting and Meet and Greet with Santa and Mrs. Claus. There will also be performances by Madrid-Waddington Central School’s Stardust and Potsdam Dance Company at the Island Park Pavilion.
The tree viewing and silent auction will be Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Old Town Hall, with a candy shop, beverages for purchase, and provided snacks. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Friends of the Library, Waddington Resource Center and Historical Society and the Waddington Methodist Church’s Angel Giving Tree.
Entrance to the event is free, but donations are appreciated.
