Waddington Concert Series makes adjustments to schedule in light of COVID-19 pandemic

WADDINGTON -- Adjustments have been made to the annual Waddington Concert Series in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, said organizers.

“The Waddington Concert Series is very grateful to the performers, sponsors, patrons, donors and fans for their support, understanding and flexibility during this unprecedented time. While we would like to carry on ‘as usual’ we need to follow guidelines and keep safety as our top priority due to Covid19,” said Dawna Miller, concert organizer, in an email to North Country This Week.

“Unfortunately we have had to make some disappointing decisions regarding the summer concerts,” Miller said.

The opening concert scheduled for June 19, featuring a premiere performance by The Cadley’s, as well as the July 3 concert with Fritz’s Polka Band and The Chippewa Breeze Band on July 10th, have been rescheduled for the Summer 2021 Series.

The sponsors for those concerts -- Laneuville’s Liquor (Denise Laneuville), Sandstone Dentistry (Stacey Feeley Howlett) and The Badlam Family (in honor of Hy and Helen Badlam) -- have graciously agreed to sponsor next year’s concerts, Miller said.

“It is extremely difficult to predict the future scheduling as the guidelines are ever-changing. We will personally contact each of our sponsors and performers as we continue to wind our way through this process,” Miller said.
