Waddington block dance Saturday will benefit family whose house burned

WADDINGTON -- A “We’ve Got Your Back” block party will be held Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at the River Lanes and Donald M. Martin Civic Center.

Proceeds will benefit the Curley family, who lost their home to a fire Oct. 14.

Events will include 3-on-3 basketball, Texas Horseshoes, and Kan-Jam Tournaments. Pre-Registration is encouraged for tournaments, and the entry fee is $20.

All the “little Yellowjackets” can get their faces painted, play games, use the bounce house and visit a nail art and spa.

A dunk tank featuring current and former coaches, athletes, teachers and community members will also be available.

A silent auction will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a live auction at 5 p.m. A bake sale and spaghetti dinner will also be held. Take out dinners will be available.

Live entertainment will be featured during the evening at River Lanes, including Amy Mayette Rivera, Lacey Stoddard, Jeff Stein, and The Acoustic Brothers.

Donations of holiday ornaments for the Curley’s new Christmas tree will be accepted.

Limited edition t-shirts will be available for purchase in both adult and kids sizes.
