CANTON -- Brooke James of Canton has been selected as coordinator for the 10th Annual Remington Arts Festival Sept. 24 in the village park.
She and boyfriend Charles Rouse own the 24 East Main St. Bed & Breakfast. Brooke just received a Masters in Tourism and Hospitality Management.
The festival celebrates arts excellence in the North Country. It honors Canton’s native son, Frederic Remington and current North Country artistans. The festival’s artistic, musical, and historical activities reflect both Remington’s era in the late 1800s and current times.
The planning committee is recruiting volunteers interested in planning certain events and activities, fundraising and marketing. Experience is not required, but enthusiasm and the desire to help are.
The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. To volunteer or for more info, e-mail remingtonartsfestival@gmail.com.
The festival is sponsored by the Town and Village of Canton in cooperation with the St. Lawrence County Historical Association, Traditional Arts in Upstate New York (TAUNY), and the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.
