CANTON – Community members are invited to join in during two days of volunteer service throughout the village on “Make a Difference Days” Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23.
This event is sponsored by the Newman Center, Canton Central School, SUNY Canton, St. Lawrence University and the Canton Chamber of Commerce.
Some of the service activities planned for this year are yard work and maintenance for the elderly homeowners, maintenance of the school playgrounds, cleanup at the village parks and other public sites around the village.
To volunteer for this event or if you know of an elderly homeowner in the village that needs help, call the Newman Center at 386-8425.
To donate snacks or drinks for the workers, leaf bags, rakes, gloves, etc., call the chamber office at 386-8255.
Everyone is encouraged to join in and make a difference.
