MASSENA – SUNY Potsdam sorority Gamma Sigma Sigma will hold a food and toy drive for a less fortunate family at the “Community Saturdays” booth at St. Lawrence Centre Saturday, Dec. 4 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Unwrapped gifts as well as any canned food or food stuffs are welcome to make the holiday season more cheerful for the family. The family includes a mother, father and three girls.

Gamma Sigma Sigma is a national service sorority founded in 1952. Previous projects conducted by the SUNY Potsdam chapter included raising money and awareness of breast cancer as well as other chronic diseases, raising money for the less fortunate and volunteering at the Potsdam Humane Society.

St. Lawrence Centre is proud of its long-standing position as a community gathering place and supporter of area non-profit organizations. The “Community Saturdays” program provides non-profit organizations with an opportunity to hold awareness activities and volunteer opportunities free of charge.

As the media sponsor of the “Community Saturdays” program, NorthCountryNow each week posts which non-profit organization is scheduled to be at the booth each week.

The “Community Saturdays” Booth is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to non-profit organizations. The booth is located at the east end of the mall’s food court.

Contact the mall office Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 764-1001 to reserve the booth. Visit www.stlawrencecentre.com for more information on the program and other programs offered at St. Lawrence Centre.
