Summer recreation programs kicking off; planned for July in Waddington

WADDINGTON -- Three summer recreation programs for children in grades 1 through 6 (ages 5-12) will take place at Waddington Beach and at the Pavilion this year kicking off at the beginning of July.

Swim lessons will take place at the beach starting July 1 and running until Aug. 13, from noon-3 p.m.

The regular morning recreation program runs from July 5 through Aug. 13, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m.-noon at the beach pavilion.

Morning recreation will run in conjunction with the summer reading program being staged at the Waddington Pavilion at the bottom of Main Street from July 5 to July 29.

The Summer Reading Program is kicking off a "tails and tales" theme this summer. Participants will engage in responsive classroom morning meetings/activities, shared and interactive read alouds, small group work to build skills and confidence, creative arts/crafts, along with implementing problem-solving skills completing STEM and STEAM projects.

A bus will be available to transport the children from the reading program to the morning program.

All programs will follow all Covid-19 Regulations.
