CANTON - An exhibition called "Contemporary Street Art as Cultural Expression and Political Resistance" will be in the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University from Thursday, Oct. 21, through Dec. 10.
Based on a research trip undertaken by Gallery Director Catherine Tedford and students to Berlin and Munich in May and June of this year, the exhibition documents contemporary street art through photography, printed ephemera, creative writing, performance and film.
On Oct. 21, a performance and film by students will be presented in the gallery at 4:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., also in the gallery, there will be a discussion with Oli Baudach and Nada Carls, from Hatch Kingdom in Berlin, "the only sticker museum in the world." The events are open to the public, free of charge.
For information or to arrange individual or group tours, contact the gallery at 229-5174.
