CANTON – “Steps For Savana,” a 5K walk/run Saturday, May 5 on the Remington Recreational Trail, will honor the memory a Canton girl born last year with a rare genetic condition.
On May 12, 2011 Savana O’Shea was born to Rex and Gina O’Shea of Canton with a genetic disorder called partial trisomy 9. This past January, Savana succumbed.
All proceeds from the event go to The Golisano Children’s Hospital and The Steps For Savana Memorial Fund to help local families with medical and travel expenses.
Registration at the Partridge Run Golf Course starts at 9 a.m. An opening ceremony is set for 9:30 a.m. Runners and walkers start out at 10 a.m.
Early bird registration, before April 6, is $10. Participants will get a commemorative T-shirt. Regular registration is $15.
