CANTON -- The St. Lawrence University men's hockey games with Niagara University, originally scheduled for Friday and Sunday, have been canceled due to a change in the campus COVID-19 Alert Status from green to yellow (moderate risk).
There are currently nine active cases of COVID-19 in the St. Lawrence community. All athletics practices and competitions have been suspended until November 30, when the University will reevaluate the situation.
“We are disappointed that we won’t have the opportunity to open our season this weekend, but we know how important it is to keep our campus community safe and healthy during this time,” said Charles W. Appleton II Men’s Hockey Coach Brent Brekke. “We hope that our combined efforts to stop the spread will get us back to where we have been for most of the fall semester so we can get back on the ice and get our season underway.”
The Saints now hope to open the season on December 5 at Clarkson.
