POTSDAM -- HYDE, a program of the St. Lawrence Health Initiative, is offering a variety of activities for teens to partake in during this uncertain time.

“This is a fun, interactive way to stay busy between school work and any chores teens may be given, as well as avoiding boredom,” said Ellen Hurlbut, who’s the youth development specialist in charge of programming for youth ages 14-18.

Monday through Friday is filled with social media posts and videos focusing on being mindful and well, while having some fun.

On Mondays and Thursdays at 1 p.m. teens can get onto a live Zoom call, referred to as “Quarantine Chronicles,” and connect with other teens in similar situations. Teens will participate in virtual icebreaker activities, talking circles and more during these meetings. Be sure to message ellen@gethealthyslc.org or @hydeadulting on Facebook or Instagram for the password that changes daily.

Every Tuesday, be sure to check Facebook and Instagram by 10 a.m. to get the link to the weekly trivia contest. Topics covered include sports, technology, science, cars, food and drink, health, geography, music, movies and TV, animals and more! There’s a chance to win a gift card so be sure to put your email in the registration.

On Wednesdays at 12 p.m. a new YouTube video link to “When Life Gives You Lemons” will be shared on social media. These videos will give tips and tricks to prepare teens for life after high school, whether they are going straight into the workforce, college or the military.

Follow @hydeadulting on social media and participate in #mindfulmonday #wellnesswednesday #throwbackthursday and #funfriday.

Be sure if you post any of the activities on your social media to tag HYDE or St. Lawrence Health Initiative Inc. and use #slcstayshome.
