POTSDAM – Five ensembles, featuring 400 of St. Lawrence County’s best young musicians, will perform ay the St. Lawrence County Music Educators Festival “A” at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15 at SUNY Potsdam’s Hosmer Hall in the Crane School of Music.
The instrumentalists and singers are 4th to 12th graders from 16 schools in the area.
Performing will be the Elementary School Chorus of 4th, 5th and 6th graders, under the direction of Andrea Ellison of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School; the Junior High Band of 7th and 8th graders, conducted by Jamie LaBarge of St. Lawrence Central School; The Junior High Orchestra, with 7th and 8th grade players, conducted by Lorie Gruneisen of St. Marguerite d’Youville Academy; the Senior High Choir conducted by Jeffrey Francom of the Crane School of Music; and the Senior High Jazz Ensemble, conducted by Miles Brown, formerly of the Eastman School of Music.
Tickets are $3 each, sold at the door.
