St. Lawrence County farmers markets collecting donations for pantries, meal programs this week

St. Lawrence County farmers markets will be collecting donations for local food pantries and community meal programs during Farmers Market Week, August 2 – 8.

Some food pantries may have restrictions or guidelines on how donations can be accepted during the COVID 19 crisis, but below are suggestions on how you can participate:

• Purchasing local food from farmers/vendors at the market for donation

• Donating dollars to the food programs to help them achieve their mission

• Farmers and vendors can donate to the food pantries at the end of the market day

Donations can be dropped off at the Market Managers’ tables.

Sunday, Aug. 2 -- Massena farmers market, Tractor Supply (105 Harte Haven Plaza), 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations collected for the Massena Neighborhood Center.

Tuesday, Aug. 4 -- Canton farmers market, Village Park, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations collected for the Campus Kitchens Project

Wednesday, Aug. 5 -- Hammond farmers market, 14 Main St., 3-6 p.m. Donations collected for the Gouverneur Neighborhood Center

Thursday, Aug. 6 -- Gouverneur farmers market, Village Park, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Donations collected for the Gouverneur Neighborhood Center; Massena farmers market, Tractor Supply (105 Harte Haven Plaza), 2-6 p.m. Donations collected for the Massena Neighborhood Center

Friday, Aug. 7 -- Canton farmers market, Village Park, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations collected for the Campus Kitchens Project

Saturday, Aug. 8 -- Potsdam farmers market, Ives Park, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Donations collected for the Potsdam Neighborhood Center.
