CANTON -- Brush Art Gallery at St. Lawrence University will host exhibits on wars in Iraq and Afghanistan beginning Jan. 23.
"Bearing Witness: Daniel Heyman," on view through Feb. 29, is a collection of works by Heyman, who witnessed interviews of over 40 former detainees of Abu Ghraib Prison. The works combine his drawings of those interviewed with verbatim transcripts of their testimony.
Heyman will give a talk Monday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in Room 123 of Griffiths Arts Center; it is free and open to the public.
"Oversized & Underpriced" will be view through March 9. Since 2008, "Oversized & Underpriced" exhibits have brought together more than 60 international street artists who have created one-of-a-kind paintings, prints and drawings on enlarged German Päckchen and U.S. Postal Service mailing labels.
The exhibit also includes children's drawings of an "ideal Kabul" and documentary photos of Skateistan's indoor skate park, which is used by over 360 students every week.
