CANTON -- St. Lawrence University Class of 1975 graduate Andrew G. Fountain, chair of the geology and geography department at Portland State University, will give a lecture titled "Glaciers and the Near Future of Global Sea Level Change" Friday, Oct. 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Hepburn Hall at SLU.
The lecture is open to the public, free of charge.
Fountain worked for the U.S. Geological Survey for more than 20 years, studying glacial hydrology.
He has won numerous prizes and awards for his research, and published widely.
