POTSDAM — A “We’re Still Here” sexual assault rally, march and sit-in is planned today at noon downtown.
Event organizers are asking people to assemble on the corner of Market and Main streets under the Arlington Apartments at noon.
The group will rally there and then march down Market Street, to Sandstone Drive, then to Maple Street and ending with a sit-in at Ives Park.
From 1-2 p.m. there will be silence to “show that they may have forced us to stay silent, but we're still here, and we're reclaiming our silence,” organizers said.
People are encouraged to wear teal or blue, to bring signs and practice social distancing protocols, including wearing a mask.
