POTSDAM -- Builders and others interested in keeping current their knowledge of changes to New York State energy building codes can take advantage of a four-hour update at SUNY Potsdam Tuesday, April 12.

The New York State Builders Association will present a program, “Residential Builder Energy Code Training” from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The course will examine the best construction practices that align with the code, and will look at future construction and best practices to ensure safe, healthy and efficient implementation that goes beyond minimum code requirements. A question and answer session will conclude the presentation.

The course is designed for builders, developers, trade contractors, remodelers, design professionals, suppliers, and code enforcement officers involved in the construction of residential one- and two- family houses or townhouses.

The course can be applied toward the 15-hour builder training requirement for NYSERDA’s Green Residential Building Program (GRBP).

For details and to enroll, contact Juli Turner at (518) 465-2492, ext. 110 or jturner@nysba.com.
