OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce and the Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad will host the 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge Saturday, March 9 at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center.
Registration will be held from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and the plunge will start at 1 p.m.
The Plunge will feature prizes for the most pledges raised, costumes and teams.
Registration is $50 if no pledge money is raised.
Money raised will benefit the two organizations.
The event will once again feature the “Badge Battle,” a competition where all law enforcement, EMS, and fire department teams “battle” it out in a fundraising challenge. Teams who raise the most pledges will win the “Badge Battle” traveling trophy and bragging rights.
A “Scaredy-Cat Club” will be available for those who are too scared to plunge but want to raise money for the cause and win prizes for costumes or most pledges raised. Registration is $10 if no pledge money is raised.
Hot showers are available for the plungers.
There will be food, raffles and other activities for the whole family.
Donations of pet food or supplies for the St. Lawrence Valley SPCA will be accepted.
