POTSDAM – The Northern New York Red Cross is encouraging boys and girls ages 11 to 15 who would like to start their own babysitting business to enroll in the American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Program 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Northern New York Red Cross office, 73 Market St. Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Program can teach the skills to be a safe babysitter and smart business owner.
When you enroll in Babysitter’s Training you’ll learn how to tell when there is an emergency and when it’s a situation you can confidently handle on your own. The course also includes first aid and how to get professional medical help fast, and how to identify common safety hazards and prevent injuries.
The cost is $50; pre-payment is required. Participants should bring a bag lunch and a Cabbage Patch size doll. The instructor is Ellen MacMaster.
