SOUTH COLTON -- Racquette Valley Fish and Game Club’s annual ice fishing derby is set for Saturday, Feb. 26 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The derby will be held only on Stump Bay at Higley Flow State Park. Entry fee is $10. Pre-registration can be done until 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Boyce's Store in South Colton, Country Store in Hannawa Falls, and Tomahawk Point in Colton.
You can also register at the Fish and Game Club Hall on Coldbrook Drive from 5 to 9 a.m. on derby day. All DEC regulations apply. There will be raffles and door prizes for entrants.
Prizes will be awarded after 4 p.m. at the Club's hall. The prizes are: first place, northern and walleye, $100 and a trophy; second and third places, a prize and a trophy; first, second and third places for perch, a prize and a trophy.
All registered fish are catch and release only. The weigh-in will be held at Stump Bay.
