CANTON -- Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and associate editor of The Washington Post Eugene H. Robinson is coming to SUNY Canton, and will be speaking at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15 in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center's Kingston Theater.

Robinson was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his eloquent columns on the 2008 presidential campaign that focused on the election of the first African-American president and showcasing graceful writing and grasp of the larger historic picture.

Prior to his 25-year tenure at The Washington Post, Robinson began his journalism career at the San Francisco Chronicle. When he arrived in Washington, he started as a city hall reporter and was eventually promoted to city editor. He served as South America correspondent, London bureau chief, foreign editor, and the assistant managing editor. In 2005, he began writing a column for the Op-Ed page of the Post. His column now appears on Tuesdays and Fridays.

In addition to authoring three books, Robinson is a prominent political analyst for MSNBC and frequents shows such as "Countdown with Keith Olbermann," "Morning Joe," "The Rachel Maddow Show" and "Hardball with Chris Matthews."

The presentation is free and open to the public.
