STAR LAKE -- The Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts in Blue Mountain Lake will present the musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” Wednesday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m, in the Clifton-Fine High School Auditorium.
The encore performance features 10 professional actors from around the country as well as local actors, including Jessica Brown, Andrea Brown, Colleen Pine, Colleen Nerney, Jordan Hornstien, Andy Studdiford, Kierstyn Natter, David Meyers, Garrick New, and Kirsten Lomnitzer.
"A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000-year-old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. The result is a non-stop laugh-fest in which a crafty slave struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan for his young master, in exchange for freedom.
The performance is appropriate for all ages.
Tickets are $15 with a $5 student rate for all performance.
For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Arts Center at 518-352-7715 or visit adirondackarts.org. Tickets will also be available at the door.
