HANNAWA FALLS – Potsdam Recreation Department is making progress toward opening Postwood Park Beach.
The new UV filtration system arrived Friday, said Director Trey Smutz. It was ordered earlier this month, after workers were unable to repair the old system.
In order to open the beach, Smutz said the equipment must be installed, and the water must be tested for harmful bacteria before a beach permit can be issued.
Smutz said a water sample must be submitted to the Department of Health and approved before the beach can open.
