POTSDAM – The United Methodist Church will celebrate the lives of 19th and 20th century pastors at its fifth annual Deceased Pastors Service at May 26 at 9:30 a.m.
All are invited to stroll through historic Bayside Cemetery as the church celebrates the lives of past pastors.
Members of the congregation and friends will gather at the cemetery on the Back Hannawa Road for this Memorial Day Weekend observance, which will begin this year at the grave of Samuel Marsh.
Marsh was a medical doctor and a lay pastor who helped to serve the Potsdam Methodist congregation. A lieutenant colonel and second-in-command of the New York 16th volunteers, Dr. Marsh was killed in the Civil War 150 years ago.
