POTSDAM -- All singers are invited to step "Bach" into the Baroque era when the Potsdam Community Chorus resumes its weekly rehearsals at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24.

Musical director and conductor Dr. Jeff Francom of the Crane School of Music faculty will rehearse the chorus in Bach's Magnificat. Two Bach cantatas will also be on the spring concert program.

Monday's rehearsal will be in Bishop Hall/C-107 of the Crane complex on the SUNY Potsdam campus. Registration and payment of dues for community members will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the hallway outside C-107.

Dues for community members will remain the same at $25, with a family rate of $20/person if more than one family member is singing with us. There is no charge for music this semester.

Internationally celebrated choral conductor Helmuth Rilling, an acclaimed Bach interpreter, will lead the May 8 concert performance. Rilling will conduct the chorus's April 25 rehearsal, and chorus members may attend a master class with Rilling on April 27.

For more information, email Dr. Francom at francojd@potsdam.edu.
