POTSDAM — The Positivity Club at Potsdam Central School is collecting candy bars for deployed troops.
The school will host Msg. James Prescott, a veteran, who will discuss the importance of collecting candy bars for troops. Parents, students and other community members are invited to hear him speak at 7 a.m. Dec. 18 in the high school library.
People who wish to donate candy bars can do so at various locations in the community, or drop them off at the high school office.
The collection runs through March and the goal is to collect 20,000 candy bars.
Many students wear red each Friday to “Remember Everyone Deployed” and raise awareness.
The collection is a partnership between the Positivity Project and the Potsdam Elks Lodge.
