The event once again benefits Team Up! with Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to promoting solutions across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan for individuals with autism and their families through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of autism spectrum disorder; and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions.
Autism is the second most common developmental disorder in the United States affecting one in every 59 children born. Despite some promising discoveries, the cause of autism is unknown and a cure does not exist. Research is crucial.
