PARISHVILLE – A pet rabies clinic is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 19 at the Parishville Fire Station, Catherine Street.
They will provide vaccinations for dogs, cats and ferrets only.
Three-year vaccinations are available if a current rabies certificate is presented. According to New York law, the rabies tag is not proof of a previous vaccination.
Dogs and cats must be at least three months old to be vaccinated. Pregnant dogs and cats can be vaccinated.
Animals must have a collar and leash. Cats must be in an animal carrier or a pillowcase. All animals must be under the control of an adult.
Ferrets need to be vaccinated yearly.
Parishville residents may license their dogs at the time of the clinic. The town clerk’s office will be open for business during this clinic.
The fee is $5 per year for a spayed or neutered dog and $15 per year for an unspayed or unneutered dog.
Licenses may be issued for more than one year dependent on the date of expiration of the rabies vaccination.
